Easter holidays activities -that won't break the bank!

Hey, So is it me or is Easter early again this year? Or are the half term holidays getting longer, as a working mum, its hard juggling work and the kids and keeping them entertained. It’s a hard because if you have to work and they are in childcare it can easily make you feel super Guilty. For me I combat these feelings by making sure when we all have time together we make the most of the time we have together and have lots of fun!

So I’ve put together some ideas of what you could get up to this half term and it won't break the bank:

Walking: Get out and about walking there’s so many lovely outdoor spaces in Leicester: Bradgate park, Watermead, Broxhill, Abby park, Swithland woods, Knighton park are to name a few. How about packing a picnic and heading out for a day. Take some paper and crayons and get the kids to find things at the park that they like and can take rubbing of. It will keep them entertained for hours.

Farm Parks: This would be great for younger kids, the city farm is run on donations and is full of fab animals, there’s a little park that the kids can play on also. Why not copy and past some farm animals on to an A4 sheet, print them out and get the kids to explore the farm and look for the farm animals. They can cross them off as they find them. The city farm has a carpark but also has great bus links. Find out more at http://www.gorsehillcityfarm.org.uk/

Crafts: How about a crafty day in, it can be a busy old time in the half term weeks. If the weather isn’t very nice it's more than likely you won’t want to venture out. Don’t let the kids hit the iPad all-day! If you prepare in advance you could pop to your local £1 store and pick up some really good crafting materials. I put a board together for you to have a look at some Easter inspired crafts on Pinterest that you could try.

If the older kids think it’s a bit boring get them to film a step by step guide while making the craft that they can upload to their YouTube channels after.

Another favourite activity, roller-skating! Its so much fun and there’s a great session on a Saturday at Parklands leisure centre in Oadby! I think it’s about a £5 for the session and skate hire and you get to skate around for an hour or so to your favourite pop turn! Its so much fun!!!

So there you go! Some ideas to keep you lovely rents sane this half time, lots of love from your friendly female family photographer!
